If you are going to be spending money for advertising on Facebook traffic to your Clickfunnels pages, you must know how to install the Facebook tracking pixel properly. Fortunately, you don’t have to be an expert, you just need to be able to copy and paste.
I am going to show you the super simple way to get your pixel setup in as little as 60 seconds.
Why do you even need to install a Facebook pixel?
An active pixel allows you to track which of your campaigns is providing the most traffic. Then, if you install the corresponding Facebook event codes, you can see how each page is converting to leads and or sales. This information can be used to increase or decrease your ad spending based on real data.
The faster you can know which ads are getting the best results, you can scale to grow your business at will. It always amazes me to see any marketer not using tracking codes on their funnels. It does not always mean success to have an active pixel. However, I can guarantee a sales funnel using Facebook ads without a code will fail.
Step I – Get Your Pixel Code From Facebook
You will need to go to your Facebook Business Manager and click the pixels tab. This will get you to the set up section. From here, you will click on install your pixel code. Copy the code found in Section 2 as shown below
Step II – Copy Pixel To Your Clickfunnels Settings Section
What is nice about using Clickfunnels is that you are not required to know a lot about coding. By going to the section portion of your funnel, you simply have to find the ‘head tracking code’ section and paste the pixel data from Step I.
Step III – Create Facebook Event Codes in Clickfunnels
On your Facebook Business Manager page, you will need to go to Measure & Report to click on the ‘Events Manager’ tab. That will bring you to the Add A Custom Conversion option.
You will want to create events for any page you need to track conversions. Those could be used to determine how many optins you are getting for a download, registrations to a webinar, or how many people are clicking your add to cart. Because not every visitor takes the next step, you can understand how effective your funnel is by the percentage that are tracked by the events you want to know about most.
You will set these event codes up right on Facebook. To add a custom conversion for each step of your funnel, copy and paste the Clickfunnels step urls to track:
URL contains will be where you put the link you want to know conversion data for. It is recommended that you name each conversion event so you can glance and know what your data means easier. For example, you can use names like ‘Awesome Bitcoin Webinar Registration’ or ‘Vacation Checklist Download’. These just have to make sense to you when you see them.
Category Drop Down: you can set by various options like ‘view content’ ‘purchase’ or ‘add payment data’.
That is all there is to it. You can setup as many conversion events as you’d like to track. You can make sure your pixel is active by installing the Facebook Pixel Helper for the Chrome browser. This will show if you installed the pixel properly. It will even tell you which events are being tracked that you setup on each step of your funnel.
Once you have everything active, you are ready to drive traffic!
